The Kaskazini Mobile Film Project equipped young people in Isiolo with practical skills in mobile photography, videography, editing and digital advocacy.
The project received 290 applications, from which 20 young creatives were selected for a two-week training programme. The training enabled participants to use mobile technology and storytelling to document community issues and create content for advocacy.
As part of the project, participants worked with the Ngaremara community to develop a collaborative short film. The project also supported community activities during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, including awareness skits and a community roadshow.
Through Kaskazini, young people were given an opportunity to turn digital creativity into a tool for community engagement, awareness and advocacy.
