Isiolo Advocacy Network supported young people to explore practical solutions to waste management, clean energy and livelihoods through briquette production.
Ten young people were trained at Ecotaka Solutions on how to produce briquettes using waste paper and Mathenge (Prosopis juliflora), an invasive plant species found in the region.
The initiative demonstrated how materials that would otherwise contribute to environmental problems can be turned into a useful alternative source of energy while creating opportunities for young people.
The work also connected environmental conservation with community livelihoods, showing how local solutions can contribute to a cleaner and more resilient Isiolo County.
